The friendship inn was once a regional base for the All wheel drive club. The AWDC started to employ a lot of rules and regulations in the late 80s and it was because of this we broke away in about 1990 and became an independent club. Since then we have thrived and have maintained a steady membership.

We do still have a regular series of trials throughout the year at various off road centres but our rules are minimal to say the least. So anyone can join in and not feel under too much pressure.

It is a shame however that things have gone the way they have as regards greenlaning as it seems that some of the best lanes have almost certainly been lost because of do gooders and environmentalists. We as a club have spent many days on these ancient highways actually repairing and clearing them which we thought was for the good of all, sadly not,so it would seem.  But the lanes that are still available do need to be driven now and again to prove that they are still in use, we need to adopt the 'use them or lose' them approach.
